You Learn Something New Every Day.

That's one of my favorite sayings.

Random tidbits I learned in the last few days:

  • I had no idea that the Appalachians stretched into New Brunswick.
  • I had no freaking clue that the Atlantic time zone existed... though having experienced daylight at 4:15 am Eastern on the overnight train, I can certainly see why.
  • For some reason, I assumed that the 78th Highlanders were an on-strength unit. I met some pipers from Halifax a few years ago when I was in Borden at military "band camp". I wonder now which band they play with.
  • I thought the border between Nova Scotia and New Brunswick involved some sort of water crossing.
