Day 8 - Montreal

I'm in my hotel room sipping a beer and watching the the All Star Game's home run derby.

I had a fantastic day here in Montreal. The weather was perfect for walking. I wandered around old Montreal, did a little shopping, then headed back uptown for lunch. Most places were either too upscale for my current level of post-train grubbyness, or too crowded. I finally came across a pub that was quiet. Luck found me again: I got one of the best salads I've ever had, and Jays Connected was on the tube. Perfect.

After that, it was still too early to check into my hotel, so I ventured further uptown for the trek I wanted to make: to the top of Mont Royal. That was a workout, but totally worth it. The view is phenomenal. I bought myself a beer to celebrate. Another one of those is-this-for-real perfect moments.

I walked back to the train station to get my bags, then to my hotel. I should check one of the online mapping sites to figure out just how far I walked yesterday. I was exhausted! I had a shower (finally) and I've spent the evening relaxing.

This has been such a blast, but I can't wait to see my hubby and my dog.
