We set five alarms the previous night. Only one of them went off, but that was enough to let me know it was time to grab my backpack and hike up to the Holiday Inn to take the shuttle back. Four time zones later, it was only 4 hours from when I'd left and it should have been much much longer. My mom picked me up and drove me home to Squamish and I slept like a rock.
Things I've Learned on this trip:
Leave the area when there is a bear on your trail.
Champagne in the eye hurts.
Although it may seem like it, the train toilet will not suck you onto the tracks.
UNO is the international language of FUN...unless you play it for more than 3 hours.
Scabby is a terrible word.
Wheat is not at its prime in April.
People in Toronto aren't mean - except the lady who served me perogies.
Wearing a Toronto T-shirt in Montreal is like dressing up as a moose in hunting season.
Being good at charades helps when getting a taxi in Montreal.
I will never be able to stay at the Chateau Frontenac.
On every train there seems to be one person who knows everything about where you are.
The dining car is the best place to make up for not bringing any water.
Hostels are conveniently located and friendly, but strange things happen.
Fish and Chips + Alexander Keith's + Maritime Fiddle Music=Awesome.
Everybody needs a stuffed lobster. Including you.
