Driving to Banff was really amazing. I don't understand how any Albertan can ever get sick of going through those mountains. I was in perpetual awe. We came pretty close to some mountain goats and finally, made our way into town.

Banff Avenue
If Calgary was bad for vegetarians, Banff was total dumpsville. I don't remember what I had to eat exactly but it was far from being as awesome as the mountains that surrounded me. But we weren't there to eat. After strolling around the centre for a while, we got back in the car and my host took us higher up the mountains. My ears were popping and it was awesome. Exactly where we stopped escapes me a little bit but our cellphones had lost signal about an hour prior. By this point, we came into contact with some other people and a dogteam, which was interesting to see. Essentially all I knew about dogteams were those which I saw in Nunavut in years previous. Nunavummiut dogteams are very different from these southern race teams. Nunavummiut teams are essentially wild. They are the sort of dogs that will probably eat your baby. This Albertan team was very tame and about half the size of dogteams in Nunavut.
Wussy Albertan dogteam with no taste for humans
We drove around some more, but fairly quickly the sky filled up with clouds and it started to snow. We headed back to town fairly soon afterwards, but not before stopping to take a few more photos.

Note the cardboard on the car's grill. So Alberta.
Magpies, which I believe are Alberta's official bird, are very beautiful creatures and you see them a lot in Banff. I tried taking a few photos, but I am no bird photographer and I had left my telephoto lens elsewhere.

So long!
