Another cellphone video I shot from inside a train
I would say that it was for the better that plan "drive-to-Toronto-on-hwy -7-in-a-rented-Cadillac" turned into plan "take the train to Toronto and drive back to ottawa on hwy 7 in a 98 Sunfire that just got in from LA."
VIARail had a sick deal on trainfare from Ottawa to Toronto where for basically $2 more than a bus ticket, I go there faster, dropped off in an arguably better downtown location and had a lot more legroom (four seats to myself can't go wrong!). I mistakenly thought that I would have AC power and a wifi connection en route but I mostly just slept and ate strawberries so the lack of these modern luxuries was not a serious problem.
This trip also marked the first time I saw this wicked girl I kind of adore but had been on opposite sides of the continent from for three months. This trip to the 416 really was the start to an awesome summer.
Besides chilling with birds and ducks in High Park as fishermen caught unreasonably large fish in Grenadier Pond, a body of water nestled gently against the not-so-scenic Gardiner Expressway.
After some delicious food at two of my favorite restaurants in the city (Utopia on College and Fressen on Queen West) as well as after some meetings and other reunions with friends (this would be my last trip to Toronto before leaving to Europe), I hopped in a car and drove to Sudbury... To be continued...
